Kenneth R. Heil

July 23, 1947 — September 5, 2022

Ken, age 75, a resident of North Canton, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, September 5th, due to complications from a stroke.


He was born July 23, 1947 in Akron, OH to Robert M. and Mable G. (Moore) Heil. Work took him to Spartanburg, SC and West Springfield, MA, returning to Ohio in 1991.


He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Gerald and Bobbie Jean (Larry) Powell. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy (Reitz) Heil; sister, Tamila Singleton (Christopher Beiter); children, Kenneth (Karen Roman) Heil of Harrisburg, PA, Katrina (Kevin) Barton of Clermont, FL, Keven (Kelly) Heil of Wadsworth, and Karl (Brenda) Heil of North Canton, and 6 grandchildren.

Ken was a proud Air Force Veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War. He retired from Exxon Mobile after 30+ years, after which he turned a hobby into a successful side business.


A kid at heart, Ken loved life and was a very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He looked forward to family vacations and teaching his grandkids bad habits. He loved to golf and get stuck in the mud riding 4-wheelers in West Virginia. He was an active member of Gyro International, A Fraternity of Friendship.


Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in North Canton for a Mass of Christian Burial with Reverend John Keehner, JCL as celebrant. Private burial will be in Hillside Memorial Park in Akron. Friends may call Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 925 South Main Street, North Canton, Ohio 44720.
