Laverne Mejean

LaVerne Mejean, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday after a brief illness. Born in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she had lived in Canton most of her life and was a member of the Canton Baptist Temple. Preceded in death by her husband, Emmett "Frenchy" Mejean Sr. Survived by her son, Emmett (Stephanie) Mejean Jr of Canton, grandchildren, Joette George and Emmett (Brittany) Mejean III and four great-grandchildren all of Florida. Friends may call Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home followed by a service at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Henniger officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or the Canton Baptist Temple.
