Lois Jo Beck

August 18, 1939 — February 23, 2018

Lois Jo (Stefancich) Beck Age 78, of North Canton, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Lois was born August 18, 1939, the daughter of the late Louis and Pauline Stefancich. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957, and on June 14, 1958 married Thomas Beck. She was very active at St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton. Lois was a Girl Scout Leader, President of the Altar and Rosary Society for two terms, head of fund raising dinners, Diocese officer in the National Council of Catholic Women, Stark County President of N.C.C.W., active in Cursillo, Focolare, Life in the Spirit, Renewal, search teenage weekends, charismatic renewal, prayer group, prayer chain, pre-marriage program, baptismal program, Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and marriage encounter. Lois was employed at the Timken Company on a co-op program her senior year in high school and continued until our first child. After raising a family, she was employed by Citizens, then First Merit Bank. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and was proficient at several crafts. Lois is survived by her loving husband Tom, of 60 years on June 14th, daughters Deborah Huchok, Laura (Dale) Filous, Paula (John) Eldreth; grandchildren, Joseph (Angela) Filous, Sarah (Ben) Spector, Erin (Steven) Youhana, Matthew, Katrina and Jarett Eldreth; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Bridget, Christopher, Augustine, and Damien Filous, and Samuel Spector. Also a sister and brother, Carolyn (John) Jandura, and Jim (Paula Rafiledes) Stefancich. Family and friends may meet at St. Paul's Catholic Church in North Canton at 10 a.m. Thursday for a Mass of Christian Burial with Msgr. Jay A. Clarke as Celebrant. Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of choice, or the Lincoln High School Scholarship Fund, PO Box 20192, Canton, OH 44701. The family wishes to express a special thank you to everyone at Bethany Nursing Home, Crossroads Hospice, and all those in the aforementioned ministries.
