Lucille M. "Lou" Dematteis

Lucille M. "Lou" DeMatteis, 86, of Canton, Ohio passed away Sunday October 7, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. Lou was born on November 26, 1931 in Malvern, Ohio and daughter of the late Demetrio "Tom" and Pauline (DiMenna) Chiurco. Lou had a zest for life and a heart filled with unconditional love. Lou is in Paradise dancing with her husband of sixty years. Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Scotty, sisters Mary Marsili, Evelyn Yuhanick and Nellie Mastroine. Lou is survived by daughters Debbie (Jeff) Slater and Joni Hite. Grandchildren Hanna (Stephanie) Slater, Thomas Hite and Taylor Slater. Great Granddaughter Madison Slater. Godson Timmy (Fran) Mastroine and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Lamiell Funeral Home in Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday October 20, 2018, 11:00a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Malvern. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, mailing address, P.O. Box 275, Minerva, Ohio 44657. These contributions will be earmarked to help fund a new Parish Hall at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
