Mafalda Niemeyer

Mafalda Niemeyer, age 88, died Wednesday. Born in Germany, she lived in Canton most of her life, retired from Windsor Medical Center and was a member of Christ the Servant Parish. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1SG Bernard Niemeyer Jr. and granddaughter, Wendy Niemeyer. Survived by his daughter, Spania (Horace) McGowan, sons, Adam (Bobbie) and Karl Niemeyer; grandchildren, Ben, Steven, Amy, Megan and Damon Niemeyer, Karla Thrift, Sandy Hallmon and Bernie and Robin Mayfield. Friends may call Monday from 5-6 p.m. at Christ the Servant Parish followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. with Msgr. Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Private burial in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritan Table or St. John Villa.
