Marcia was born in Canton, Ohio on October 3, 1947, to Elmer (Red) and Marguerite (Welsh) Swartz. Marcia graduated from Canton Lincoln High School in 1965. She took art classes at The Ohio State University and Kent State University.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, James (Kathryn) of Indiana and John of Canton; and sisters, Joan (Rex) Childers of Indiana and Mary (Richard) Lashley of Canton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Fred; son, Frederick A. (Stephanie) of Muskegon, MI; daughter, Angela (John) of Massillon; and son, John (Laura) of Massillon. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gail Moses (William) of New Jersey; and brother- in-law, Joseph Rich (Christa) of Canton; nieces, nephews and friends.
Marcia loved her family above all. She also loved cooking and home decorating. She was an exceptional watercolor artist and taught classes in many places across the United States. Additionally, she published three watercolor books and loved to travel, especially to Italy. Marcia was incredibly kind and caring, and never knew a stranger.
Calling hours will be on April 3, 2025 from 5 pm to 7 pm at Lamiell Funeral Home on Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton. The burial mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church of Canton on West Tusc at 10 am on Friday, April 4, 2025.
