Margaret M. Dougherty, age 94, died Wednesday after a full life. Born in Fall River, Massachusetts, she had lived in Canton most of her life. She was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, had worked at Newport, RI Torpedo Station and retired from Stark Mold after 25 years of service. Margaret was a member of Christ the Servant Parish, Christ the Servant Ladies Guild, American Legion Post 44 Auxiliary and was an avid card player. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul F. Dougherty whom she met during World War II at the Newport Torpedo Station, daughter-in-law, Janice Dougherty and brothers, Edward and Joe Shaw. Survived by her sons, Paul E. (Susan Kelly) Dougherty of Canton, Eugene J. (Sharon) Dougherty of North Canton, Edward P. (Kathleen) Dougherty of Novi, Michigan and Bryan J. (Vicki Flickinger) Dougherty of Dellroy, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staffs of Bethany Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice for their compassionate care. Family and friends will meet on Monday at 10 a.m. at Christ the Servant Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial with Monsignor Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
