Margaret "Peg" June (Wyler) Leiter, age 92, died Tuesday after a long illness. She was born in Canton on June 25, 1924 and was a graduate of McKinley High School. Peg was a life time member of Trinity United Church of Christ. Worked at Westinghouse then made gun housings and torpedoes for the Navy. Went to business school then worked for the Canton Water Department. There Peg worked as a switch board operator, cashier, billing department then secretary for the Superintendent of the Canton Waterworks. Retired after thirty-nine years in the workforce. She got bored and went to work with Elden in his company laying tile. She made many friends bowling, playing cards, attending Masonic events with Elden and Glenn, a longtime member of Meadow Glenn Garden Club over the years holding the positions of Secretary, Treasurer, and President, going out to eat with her breakfast and lunch groups. Peg was the most gracious hostess at the many dinners and parties she gave over the years for her family and friends. While at the Waterford she and Glenn made many friends. Peg served on the resident board and ran the WiiBowling league for a number of years. She will be missed by her family and many friends especially life-long friend Zita Paumier and the other members of the Paumier family. Preceded in death by her husbands, Elden F. Reifsnyder, George Jackson and Glenn Leiter and nephew, James Randolph Kalkman, Jr. Survived by her niece, Linda Kay (Kalkman) Hall, grandniece Louisa Jane Hall and her husband Evan Bourquard, Grand nephew George Edwin Hall and his wife Krystian (Bender) Hall, one great-grandniece and three great-grand nephews. Her nephew's wife, Debora Ann (Bowers) Kalkman, grandniece, Lee Ann (Kalkman) Herron and her husband, Jarrod Herron, grandnephew, Jeffery Kalkman and wife Lauren (Burton) Kalkman, four great-grandnieces, six great-grandnephews and one great-great-grandniece, step-daughter, Claudia Mae (Leiter) Stephens and her husband, Stanley Michael Stephan and step-son, Daniel Wall Leiter and his wife, Janice Irene (Shephard) Leiter. Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ with the Rev. Andrew Taylor Peck officiating. Peg's family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the care given to Peg by the entire nursing staff and aides at Canton Christian Home and request that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Memory of Margaret "Peg" Leiter to Canton Christian Home Benevolence Fund so that no one is asked to leave due to financial reasons.
