Margaret Ann (Nicholas) Milnes

June 21, 1935 — February 21, 2021

Margaret Ann (Nicholas) Milnes 85, of Canton passed away peacefully at home with family on Sunday, February 21, 2021. Margaret was born in Canton, OH to Donald and Edna Nicholas. A 1953 graduate of Lehman High School. She was a stay-at- home Mom until her children were older. She went to work in the oil and gas industry in an entry level position for Appalachian Exploration and ended up being responsible for oil & gas revenue distribution for Range Resources. She loved her work and her co-workers, and her co-workers loved her. She begrudgingly retired at the age of 75. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mom, aunt, grandma, great-grandma and great-great grandma. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends. Nothing pleased her more than watching ALL of her children (adults included) have a water fight or Nerf battles, have a nice dinner or just eat hot dogs, she was all in. She would go anywhere and do anything. If you asked her "would you like to" she would immediately respond yes. It did not matter what you were asking her to participate in, the answer was always yes. She attended most every recital, ball game, play, award dinner, art show, etc. Always there for everyone. I could write pages on her kindness, generosity and her compassion for others. Last but not the very least was her sense of humor – it was mildly twisted and we loved it. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard, who was always her "man". Also preceded in death by her daughter Kim Ellen, her brother Robert Nicholas and many in laws. She is survived by her children, Rick (Lyn) Milnes, Michael (fiancé, Courtney) Milnes, Grand-children, Melanie Conley, Owen Milnes and Nev Milnes. Great Grand-children Karmiesha Curtis, Dadisi Curtis Jr. and Jameel Conley. Great-Great grand-children Kaden Davis and Chris Davis. Countless nieces, nephews and many, many friends. I would like to include a special nod to her niece Leanne for being there. I would be remiss if I did not mention all the wonderful people who work for Mercy Hospice. Always there for us in a blink of the eye with a warm heart and a smile. Thank you! Thank you! A private family service and burial will take place soon. When we can all gather without the specter of Covid, we will have a celebration of her life when it is warm and sunny. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Akron Children's Hospital. Lamiell Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
