Margaret R. Thomas, age 90, passed away on January 2, 2021 at the House of Loreto. We remember our dear Aunt Margaret for her abiding faith, unstinting generosity, and her great love of her large extended family. Margaret was the daughter of Marrun and Wadea Thomas and a lifelong Canton resident. She was a graduate of St. Paul's grade school, Mount Marie (Central Catholic), and Kent State University, where she earned a Master's degree. Margaret taught home economics and was a counselor at Central Catholic High School before becoming the evening manager at the Hall of Fame Fitness Center. She was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, where she prepared many second graders for First Communion, and later at St. Michael's Catholic Church as a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by her brother Dr. Joseph Thomas and Jeanne and her sister Rose Fleck. Margaret was preceded in death by her siblings, Dr. John Thomas (Mernabelle), Mary Esber (Edward), and Dr. Thomas Thomas (Donna). Aunt Margaret was a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews and is survived by many cousins across the country and in Lebanon. Family and friends will meet on Wednesday at 12 noon at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Private interment at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Central Catholic High School, Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, or the House of Loreto.
