Maria K. Volk

Maria K. Volk, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born in Durnholz, Czechoslovakia on November 29, 1928 to Katherine and Phillip Roisl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert F. Volk and sister, Anna Meixner.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth, Barbara (Dean Maloney), Herb (Eileen), Katie (Eric Paset); 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

After a long career in nursing, which began in Vienna, Austria and continued at several VA hospitals in Brecksville and Cleveland, she retired to enjoy many interests and passions. These included tending to her large garden, sewing and crafting, cooking, reading, travel and keeping up with current events.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Southern Care Hospice or St. Michael’s parish in Canton, Ohio.
