Marie E. Gang

Marie E. Gang passed away on January 3, 2026 surrounded by the love she spent her life so freely giving. She was 89 years old. Born on April 9, 1936 in Canton, Ohio, she lived a long, full life marked by generosity, faith, and a fierce devotion to the people she loved.

To know her was to feel welcomed and supported She gave without hesitation—her time, her wisdom, her laughter, and her heart. Her faith guided her steps, and her steadfast belief in kindness shaped the lives of everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.

Marie was loving in the truest sense of the word: warm, protective, and endlessly patient. Yet she carried a fiery spirit too—a spark that made her bold, resilient, and unafraid to stand up for what she believed in. Above all, she was a good person—good in the everyday ways that matter most. She listened. She cared. She showed up. Her legacy is woven into countless moments of compassion and joy, and into the hearts of her family and friends. Marie was a hero to all of us.

She is survived by son, Julian Gang, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Zimmerman, Phyllis Amato, and Loretta Gang; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Gang; son, Lawrence Gang; and brother, Joseph Amato.

Family, friends, and loved ones are invited for visitation on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 9:00 to 10:30 AM, Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated following visitation at Little Flower Catholic Church, Canton at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Massillon.
