Marjorie Ann Derby, age 79, died Sunday. Born in Louisville she had lived in East Sparta most of her life and was the former owner of Margie's Restaurant. She was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist and enjoyed sewing and spoiling her cat "Snowflake." Survived by her husband of 62 years, Rich Derby, daughter, Kathleen (Phillip) McGoye of Louisville, sons, Brian Derby of Louisville and Steve (Kathy) Derby of Canton, son-in-law, Mike Hudas of Canton, grandchildren, Alicia (Brian) Staats, Kristen (Wayne) Stoker, Tiffany McGoye and Richard (Alice), Brian and Alex Derby, step-grandchildren, Kristina, Shawn (Jess) and Tara Ferguson, 11 great-grandchildren, and step-brother, Pete (Sherry) Mathis of Minerva. Preceded in death by her daughters, Beverly Derby and Roxanne Hudas, daughter-in-law, Laraine Derby, sister, Dorothy, brothers, Jack, Bob and Donny and step-sister, Doris. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with the Very Reverend John Sheridan, STL-Rector as celebrant. Burial will be in Melsheimer Cemetery.
