MARLENE J. HANOOD

On July 18, 2024, Marlene J. Hanood, passed away quietly on her journey home, at the age of 91. She was born in Canton, Ohio on March 23, 1933 to parents, August and Margaret (Rusterholz) Thiessen, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Hanood in 2017; son, David Hanood and brother, Richard Thiessen.

Marlene was a loving, supportive, and unselfish person, who always put others before herself. She adored her family and devoted herself to being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, quilting, and traveling. Her home was filled with love, family, and friends, and she walked each day by faith, touching the lives of many.

She will be missed and her memory cherished always by those who survive; her daughters, Peggy (Terry) Pitzer of New Vienna, Ohio, Denise Schlatt of Canton, Ohio; son, Phillip Hanood, Jr. of Florida; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Hanood; grandchildren, Kelly, Jeffrey, and Jena; great-grandchildren, Riley, Quinn, Stella, Guy, Mason, Luke, and Karter.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2027 at 2:00 P.M., St. John Catholic Cemetery, 1900 Walden Avenue, NW, Canton, Ohio.
