MARNA R. SANDRU

Marna R. Sandru, of Canton, passed away November 2, 2023, at the age of 85. She was born in Canton, Ohio on December 18, 1937, to her late parents, Frank and Doris (Bair) Held. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Rick.

Marna's memory will forever be cherished by those who survive; her husband of 63 years, Nick Sandru; her children, Jennifer Sandru and Nick Sandru; brother, Mick (Elaine) Held; several nephews and nieces;

Most important to Marna was her family and the love they shared with each other. She was a proud graduate of Timken Vocational High School, where she also worked for thirty-five years as the principal's secretary. The admiration she had for the staff, students, families and the community were easily seen in her daily duties. She always took the time to be there, always giving and never asking for anything in return. She was held in high regard for her abilities and became known as the one who pretty much ran the school.

Marna was a lifelong lover of dogs. She was preceded in death by her cherished Coco and Mollee and is survived by her beloved companion, Maggi.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date.
