Mary Kathleen “Kathy” (Savage) Batista

Mary Kathleen "Kathy" (Savage) Batista, age 79, died Monday, January 3, 2022. Raised in Lakewood, Kathy lived in the North Canton area most of her life. As a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church (North Canton), she was active in the Women's Guild. She was also a member of the North Canton Jaycees, Junior League, and Gourmet Club. She earned a nursing degree from Saint Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing, leading to a lifelong career caring for babies and children. Preceded in death by beloved husband Roy Hall Batista, she is survived by her daughters, Joan Batista of Washington, DC and Margaret "Peggy" (Robert Bazzoli) Batista of Uniontown, sons, Matthew Batista of Cincinnati and Marcus Batista of Los Angeles, seven grandchildren and two sisters, Jane Stone and Carol Savage. Family and friends will meet on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church (North Canton) for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father John Keehner as celebrant.
