MARY LOURRINE (BEERS) RYAN, O.F.S.

Mary was born in Canton, Ohio on October 12, 1923, to Irvin and Martha (Summers) Beers of Pennsylvania. She attended St. John School Catholic School and graduated from Lehman High School in 1942. On January 28, 1950, she married Robert Keenan Ryan in St. John Catholic Church. God blessed their marriage with four children; Mary K. and Larry Brogan, Michael J. and Alice Ryan, all of Texas, Cecilia A. and Keith Cuenot, and Joseph F. Ryan, all of Canton, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer and Mark Schneider of Canton, Ohio, Kristine and Travis Graham who is serving in the U.S. Army in Tennessee; and great-grandchildren, Katie, Bree, Emily, and Connor.
She is also survived by niece, Julie A. (Beers) and husband, Christpher Veverka of Bay Village, Ohio; and cousin, Audrey (Summers) Smith of Dalton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 2010; brother, Robert and wife Carol Beers of Bay Village, Ohio, and brother, (Donald) Father Ervan Beers, O.F.M.
Mary and Robert were founding members of Our Lady of Peace Parish in 1953, as well as being friends and supporters of the Sisters at Sancta Clara Monastery for many years. She became a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order in 1986, was a member of the Catholic Interracial Council, and was a community volunteer in multiple capacities since 1968. For the last four years, she had been living at the House of Loreto.
Family and friends are welcome for visitation at the House of Loretto on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Mary wished for Memorial Contributions to the Congregation of the Divine Spirit, 2700 Harvard Avenue, NW, Canton, Ohio 44709.
