Mary Lou Oberster

November 17, 1946 — March 8, 2017

Mary Lou Oberster, age 70, died Wednesday after a brief illness. She was a life resident of Canton, 1965 graduate of McKinley High School and had worked as a home caregiver and at Saint Joseph Catholic Church where she also volunteered. Mary was a member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist. Survived by three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joan and Greg Miller, Chris Oberster and Anita and Paul Kociuruba, four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert, Thomas, John and Bonnie and Dennis Oberster and Debi Oberster, close friend, John Danner and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, John and Rita Oberster, sister, Cathy Kociuruba, brother, Edward Oberster and sister-in-law, Marie Oberster. Family and friends will meet on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist for a Mass of Christian Burial with The Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist.
