Michael C. Dougherty

Michael C. Dougherty, 64, of Navarre, Ohio passed away suddenly of a heart attack on June 14, 2018. He was born in Canton, Ohio the son of John and Marie Dougherty. Mike graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in 1972 and received a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1978. During his career he worked for many companies including Timken, Burns Colfor and private consulting. He had a passion for family, racing, and music. His accomplishments were many including over 30 years of SCCA auto racing, but nothing surpassed the love for his family. Mike will be remembered as the funny yet caring father and grandfather that he was. He is survived by his daughter, Colleen (Jason) Bullen, son, Eric (Amy) Dougherty, grandchildren, Gabriel, Grace, Jocelyn, Ava and Jenson, brothers, David, Dan and John and sister, Rose. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Patrick and sister, Donna. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with the Very Reverend John Sheridan, STL – Rector as celebrant. Burial in Saint John Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
