Michael P. Rufo, age 92, died Saturday. Born in Youngstown, he lived in Canton most of his life, graduate of McKinley High School, former co-owner/president of Stark Distributing, member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist and a World War II Navy veteran. Survived by his wife, Ruth "Betty" (Wise) Rufo, daughters, Debbie (John) Robinett of New Albany, Ohio, Susan Rufo of Akron, Sandy (Nick) Moldovan and Janet Chandler of Canton, seven grandchildren including Elizabeth Sullivan who they raised and numerous great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, Michael P. Rufo, Jr., a grandson, two sisters and a brother. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist with The Very Reverend Ronald Klingler as celebrant. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist or Aultman Hospice.
