NORMA JEAN WENNING CAPPER HANOOD

Norma Jean Wenning Capper Hanood, 89, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully,

October 12, 2023, at Aviva Hospice. She was born in Canton, Ohio, on January 8, 1934, to the late Royce and Anola (Kelly) Wenning.

She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert, David, and Richard Wenning and grandson, John Capper.

Norma is survived by her husband of 28 years, Joseph Hanood; daughter, Deborah Elsass; sons, Terry (Robin) Capper, Scott (Bev) Capper; six grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Betty) Wenning, Gary (Jenny) Wenning; stepdaughters, Tamara (Daniel) Gossett, Theresa (Sam) Huff, Charmaine (Al) Restivo; stepsons, Joseph Hanood II, James (Lori) Eckelberry; 22 step grandchildren; and 23 step great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Canton and the Rosary Club. She was an outstanding baker, putting her heart and soul into everything she made. Norma's family was extremely important to her and if you knew her, you knew it. She had a generous heart, a beautiful smile, and will be forever missed.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and Monday, October 23, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton, where the service will follow at 11:00 AM on Monday. Interment will follow at St. John Catholic Cemetery, Canton.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Community Hospice or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
