Obituary for Alice Marie Chevraux

Alice Marie (Betzler) Chevraux
Age 77 of Canton, passed away Friday, April 6, 2018. Alice was born Dec. 30, 1940 in Canton, a daughter of the late Leonard and Lucille (DeVille) Betzler, and was a life resident of this area. She was a 1958 graduate of Central Catholic High School and a 1961 graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing. Alice had been employed as a Registered Nurse at Mercy Medical Center and University Hospital in Cleveland. She was a long-time member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton, and was involved in Sanctuary Cove, Search, and Small Christian Communities. She enjoyed volleyball and traveling. Besides her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brother, Carl Betzler. She is survived by her husband, James Chevraux II, with whom she would have celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary on June 9th; three daughters and a son, Julie (Mark) McVaney, Joyce (Mark) Katich, Jeanne (Marek) Pietrzycki, and James (Patti) Chevraux III; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Betzler, Phyllis (Nate) Leggett, and Marilyn (Don) Camerino. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wed. at 10 a.m. in St. Paul’s Catholic Church in North Canton with Msgr. Jay A. Clarke as Celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday 5-8 p.m. at Lamiell Funeral Home.
