She was born in Canton, Ohio on August 2, 1943, to the late Max K. and Fanny (Atleson) Adelman. Patty was preceded in death by both of her parents, brother-in-law, Dennis Hostetler, and brother-in-law Larry Goldberg.

After many years of struggling with a progressive pulmonary disease, Patty is at peace. In Patty's time on this earth, she enjoyed family, friends, work, and had accomplishments to celebrate.

Patty was raised in the Jewish faith and was a member of Temple Isreal where she and Robert attended services. Patty enjoyed celebrating and observing religious traditions with her sister Barbara, and family. Patty was a loving and loyal partner to her husband, Robert (Bob) Nicholas. Patty and Bob were married for over 36 years. Patty worked full time for Nicholas Insurance & Financial Services for 15 years and provided ongoing support until deterred by her health. Patty was a capable accountant for Nicholas Insurance and also in her work pursuits before joining Bob's business, most notably her time in the employment of Wolfgang Rippert at Winn's RV. Patty spoke often and fondly of her years reporting to Wolfgang. When Patty's mother, Fanny, was in declining health, Patty provided special care in those years. People enjoyed Patty for her sense of humor and meaningful one-on-one conversations. For many years of her life, Patty enjoyed gardening and was knowledgeable and skilled with plants. Patty had a full life.
