Philip J. Anderson, age 96, died Monday. Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he had lived in Canton most of his life, 1938 graduate of Saint John High School, worked at Thurin's and retired from Fisher Foods, member of the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist and was a World War II Army veteran. Phil was an avid reader and music lover. Preceded in death by his wife. Thelma Anderson, sisters, Maude Becker and Patricia Totten and a brother, Robert Anderson. Survived by his daughters, Ann Marie (Larry) McLaughlin of Canton, Coletta Anderson of Phoenix, Arizona and Joan (Shannon) Rine of Kettering, sons, Jim (Tynne) Anderson and Dennis Anderson of Canton, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and sisters, Sally Miller of North Canton and Emily Kirkpatrick of Canton. Services were private with burial will be in Saint John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Basilica of Saint John the Baptist or the American Cancer Society.
