Philip L. Weisbrod, age 68 died Thursday. He was a life resident of the Canton/Minerva area, 1967 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School and was retired from residential home building. Phil was a member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church (Minerva), a Vietnam War Army veteran and enjoyed golf, gardening but his devotion was to his family. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Georgette (DiMarzio) Weisbrod, daughter, Mary Katheryn (Matt) Frost of Fort Wayne, Indiana, sons, Christopher (Molly) Weisbrod of East Canton and Stephen (Shannon) Weisbrod of Carrollton, grandchildren, Pria, Brianna, Nicolas, Kate, Stella, Lily, Olivia, Jack, Sedona and Adalee, sisters, Bonnie Nieschwitz of Canton, Debra (Dale Berger) Scali of Massillon and Jannie (Dave) Chisler of Canton and a brother, Gary (Sandi) Weisbrod of California. Family and friends will meet on Monday at 11 a.m. at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church (Minerva) for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Victor Cinson Jr. as celebrant. Private burial will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home.
