Priscilla Kelly Nemetz “Ohana”

November 17, 1947 — October 15, 2017

Priscilla Kelly Nemetz "Ohana", age 69, died Sunday after a sudden illness. Born November 17, 1947 to Janice (Kandell) and Jack Kelly in Canton, she had lived in Uniontown the last 40 years and was a graduate of Glenwood High School. Priscilla's greatest joy was being a mother. She loved her children and lived to give them new experiences and do anything they wanted to do. She said her job was Memory Maker. Scouting was a large part of those memories. She was active with her sons Boy Scouts troops and was a leader for multiple Girl Scouts troops. She was a decorated Girl Scout, honored to receive the highest awards locally and nationally. To her, the highest recognition she ever received was being given a camp name. Her friends named her "Ohana", Hawaiian for family because of her ability to include and love everyone. To Priscilla, Girl Scouting was "all about the girls". She ran countless of programs, camping trips, and trainings, joined committees and leadership councils. She defined going above and beyond and loved every minute. She was also a member of the Trirosis Women's Club. She was dedicated to empowering and lifting up women of all ages. Survived by her husband, Robert Nemetz, daughter, Kelly Nemetz, son, Scott (Lindsay) Nemetz, brother, John (Schelie) Kelly and her friends and sisters in scouting. Preceded in death by her son, Craig Nemetz and parents, Jack and Janice Kelly. Services are Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio gsneo.org.
