Richard G. Delong

Richard G. DeLong, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 94. He was born July 7, 1930, in McDonaldsville, Ohio to his late parents, Ervin and Verda DeLong. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Virginia DeLong.

Richard retired from Borden's Ice Cream after 39 years of dedicated service. He was an area resident most of his life and attended Greentown Nazarene Church. He was a devoted family man, committed to building a strong and loving family.

Richard's memory will be cherished always by those who survive; daughter, Sharon (Tom) Daum; son, Doug (Pam) DeLong; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth DeLong.

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, January 10, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton, where the service will follow at 12:00 pm. Terry Livengood will serve as officiant. Private interment will take place at the wishes of the family.
