Richard S. Manos, 89 of Hanover House, passed away July 10, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born January 30, 1929 in Canton, Ohio. Richard graduated Lehman High School and Mount Union College. He completed law school at The University of Akron. He was a USMC World War ll veteran. Richard was Director of Personnel at Aultman and Mansfield General Hospital. Mr. Manos retired from American General Life Insurance. He is a past President of Toastmasters International Triangle Club. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason- Lodge #60.
He is survived by brother, Dr. William (Bonnie) Manos of Columbus, Ohio and children Samuel R. Smitley of Perry, Rebecca (Mike) Hill of Perry, Scott A. Smitley of Clayton, North Carolina, and step-daughter, Deborah (Mike) Dyer and family of Perry. Grandchildren Andrew, Aaron, Amanda and Ashley Smitley of Canton, Ohio; Vanessa (Joe) Moscariello and Valerie (Florin) Rasinar and six great-grandchildren, all of Canton. Special friend Jessie Totten of Hanover.
Preceded in death by parents Samuel P. Manos and Sally Lehman- Engelka Manos; biological father Albert Carl Smitley; brother, Peter S. Manos and ex-wife, Jacqueline (Valentine) Manos.
The family will receive friends from 11-1pm, Saturday, July 14, 2018, followed by a service at 1pm at Lamiell Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Smith officiating, then burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
