Rita C. Camp

Rita C. Camp, pre-deceased by husband Jack Camp (1982) and son Jim Camp (2005); and survived by son Charley (Andrea) Camp of Catonsville MD and daughter Peg Camp of Ashland MA; grandchildren Megan Snyder-Camp Lehman (TJ) of Seattle WA; Nicholas (Laura) Camp of Menlo Park CA; Zoe Camp of Brooklyn NY; great-grandchildren Henry, Callie, and Carver Lehman and many nieces and nephews. Rita's life displayed her devotion to family, friendship, and church. Born in Chillicothe OH she graduated from Canton's McKinley High School in 1936. She worked at Conrad & Mueller Ins. before marrying Jack Camp in 1946. They were founding members of Our Lady of Peace Church where she served as administrator from 1970 until her retirement in 1978. Having spent 85 of her 98 years in Canton, she is laid to rest among those who cherish her memory. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Christ the Servant Parish with Monsignor Lewis Gaetano as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org or gilchrist hospice.org.
