RITA MARIE CUPARI

Rita Marie, Cupari, 67, of East Sparta, Ohio, passed away at her home, February 12, 2023, after fighting her battle with cancer since early 2021. She was born in Wooster, Ohio, November 9, 1955, to Josephine (Lancia) Giacomo and the late Ronald Giacoma.

She was proud of her Italian heritage and was very loyal to her mother and father. As their only child, she took time from her own life, willingly to be a caregiver for each of them. Her mother survives her today.

She held friends she made throughout her life, close to her heart and was full of hugs, compassion, and smiles. Rita was always optimistic, seeing the good in all people and made friends easily. Everyone who truly knew her, was immediately drawn to her charisma and warmth. Her love for animals was over the top. She loved horses her entire life and fulfilled her dreamed of having her own in 2016, when her mare, Dixie, came into her life.

She was full of love for her husband, Greg, who survives, and was his companion for 22 years. As his wife, she helped him to smile every day, taught him the importance of patience, having friends, and kindness to others. Rita will be missed by everyone for all her wonderful qualities.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Lamiell Funeral Home, Canton. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, February 16, 2023, 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2427 Tuscarawas Street, West, Canton. Father Brian Cline will serve as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Massillon.
