Rita Helm (Nee Meredith)

Rita Helm (nee Meredith), 62, of Massillon passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018 after a long battle against cancer. Rita is survived by her loving spouse of nearly 31 years, Robert Helm, her son Todd (Vickie) Hudy, and her daughter Natalie (Tyler) Kuchta. She leaves behind two grandsons, Austin Hudy and Bryson Kuchta, her sister Joan and brothers Gary and David, and a group of extended family and friends who will miss her deeply. Rita was preceded in death by her father and mother, Chapman Meredith and Betty McCroskey, step-mother Wilma Meredith, and her brothers Noel, Michael and Eddie. Rita was a vivacious, loving and generous woman. She was also a fighter and fought against cancer on two separate occasions, over the last year and in 2010. She worked in the car business as a salesperson and a financer, working at Kempthorn Motors for many years. She loved spending time with her family and friends, collecting Santas, hosting parties and sharing her love. She will be fiercely missed, but her family is at peace knowing that she is no longer in pain. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. in the showroom at Kempthorn Motors. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
