Robert P. Bertsch

Robert P. Bertsch, 89, of North Canton, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026.

Born on June 26, 1937, in Canton, Ohio, Bob lived a life defined by hard work, service to his community, and devotion to his family. He retired from The Timken Company after 38 years of dedicated employment. He also proudly served the North Canton Fire Department for 25 years before retiring. Never one to sit still, Bob continued working with the North Canton City School District for an additional 10 years.

Bob had a passion for traveling the countryside in his motor home, always enjoying the beauty of the places he visited. He loved tinkering with projects, working with his hands, and spending time around classic cars. As a devoted automobile enthusiast, he was a member of the Friends Corvair Car Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, Judy (Kelly) Bertsch; parents, William and Anna (Kesling) Bertsch; and brothers, William Jr. and John Bertsch.

Bob is survived by his children, Kathy (Daniel) Eudy, Bonnie McHenry, and Robert (Sue) Bertsch II. He will be adoringly remembered by his grandchildren, Alicia David) Bailey, Stephen Reber, Maddie McHenry, and Gary "Bud" Eudy; and great-grandchildren, Braxton and Colton. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will honor Bob’s wishes with a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Canton Fire Department in Bob's memory.
