Robert J. Holtgreive

Robert Joseph Holtgreive, age 92, resident of Canton, Ohio for 59 years, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025. After serving in the United States Army, Robert worked as the Vice President of Research and Development at Hercules. He dedicated his time and talent to serving St. Michael's Parish. Robert was also a member of Shady Hollow Country Club, volunteered at Community Harvest and Red Cross, and enjoyed playing golf and cards with friends and family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Velda Holtgreive. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rosemary (Tom) Stephen, and survived by his children, Larry (Rhonda), Jane (Ron) Hughes, Bernie (Shannon), and Audrey (Ted) Dunn; as well as his fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was greatly admired and loved by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

Funeral mass will be held Friday, October 31st at St. Michael's Parish at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. preceding the funeral mass. A burial service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, on Monday, November 3rd, at 2:15 p.m.
