Robert Earl Hurin, age 85, died Monday after a brief illness. Born in Hecla, South Dakota, he had lived in Canton since 1985. Robert was a graduate of the University of Minnesota. He was employed in upper management by Montgomery Ward for 32 years of service prior to his retirement. Robert was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and Shady Hollow Country Club. He was a Korean War Air Force veteran serving in SAC, stationed in Northern Africa. Robert was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. Survived by his wife, Marilyn Hurin of the home, daughter, Terese Hurin and her spouse, Teresa Masters, grandson, Cooper Hurin all of Uniontown, brother-in-law, Larry Lambert of Florida and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by a son, Christopher Hurin. Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Donald King as celebrant. Friends may call Saturday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Stark County Humane Society.
