Robert E. Jacobs

Robert E. Jacobs, age 70, died Thursday after a long illness. He was a life resident of Canton, 1964 graduate of Louisville High School and was retired from the Timken Company. Robert was a member of Tubal Lodge No. 551 F&AM, Ancient Accepted Order of Scottish Rite Valley of Canton, Tadmor Temple, and Akron Court No. 80 International Royal Order of Jesters. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Survived by his wife, Nancy Thacker Jacobs, step-daughters, Kim (Mitchell) Tope of Findlay and Leigh Ann (David) Miller of Canton, step-son, D.J. Thacker of New York City, four step-grandchildren and a brother, Roy (Karen) Jacobs of Louisville. Preceded in death by his son, Robert G. Jacobs and sister, Carolyn Sue Hartwick. Services are Monday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at the Canton Christian Home with Chaplain Ron Iwanusa officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call Monday from 12-1 p.m. at the Canton Christian Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Tadmor Temple or Canton Christian Home.
