Robert L. Schwichtenberg, age 89, died Monday after a brief illness. Born in Canton he had live in Canton and Florida. Robert was a graduate of McKinley High School and was a retired barber and former owner of B&W Drive Thru. He was a member of First Lutheran Church, Louisville Eagles and the American Legion. He was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran. Preceded in death by his wives, Wilma A. and Kathleen E. Schwichtenberg, son, Garry L. Schwichtenberg, parents, Max and Mary Schwichtenberg, and sisters, Gladys Bates, Minetta Bush and Leetta "Peggy" Velton. Survived by his daughter-in-law, Kathleen R. Schwichtenberg of Massillon, grandchildren, Wendy (Josh) Lynn of Bradenton, Florida and Nicole (Dan) Kummetz of Chicago, Illinois, great-grandson, Luca Kummetz, sister, Marion Bartee of Canton, stepdaughter, Kelly Van Horn of Canton and many nieces and nephews including Patricia (Roger) Bigelow. Memorial services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Lamiell Funeral Home with Pastor Darla Ann Kratzer officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Lutheran Church.
