Ronald J. Blanc, age 85, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 19, 2017 after a brief illness. He was raised in East Canton, Ohio by his parents Kenneth and Regina Blanc. He graduated from East Canton High School in 1949. After signing with the New York Yankees, he pitched for their minor league team in Leesburg, Florida before enlisting to serve in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Ron worked for Dieco Tool & Die as Vice-President of Sales. Ron married the love of his life, Judy, in 1962. They loved to travel and contributed much of their time serving charitable causes. Ron was a member at St. Benedict Catholic Church and was a past Commander of the American Legion Post 667. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his sister, Jean Berry; and his brothers, James and Wayne Blanc. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Benson C. Okpara on Friday, June 23 at 10:00 am at the North Lawn Cemetery Chapel in Canton, Ohio. In lieu flowers, memorial contributions in Ron's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on their website www.stjude.org/Donate.
