Ronald Glen DeRhodes, DVM, 88, heard the words "Well done, good and faithful servant" on July 2, 2022, at his home in Homeworth, Ohio, after an illness. He was born on June 11, 1934, in Columbiana, Ohio, to Thomas Wilbur and Mary Alberta (Harrold) DeRhodes. On September 17, 1960, he married the love of his life, Carole Lee Wooster, and they had four children: son Jon and daughters Lynda, Diane, and Ellen. Ron excelled in his career as a veterinarian for 36 years at his own practice in Canton, and he was an avid supporter and board member of the Stark County Humane Society as well as the Ohio River Valley Llama Association. He was also a founding member of Trinity Baptist Church, where he remained a member until his passing. Surviving Ron are two daughters, Diane (Deno) Webb of New Palestine, IN, and Ellen (Mark) Stauffer of North Canton, OH, and a son-in-law, Allen Young, of Louisville, OH; grandchildren Jordan Hafer, Sydney Webb, Shannan Young, Lake (Lindsay) Webb, Brianna McCune, and Leah Stauffer; sister Myrna Dunn; other family members and a host of friends, including Scott Eibel. Ron was preceded in death by his son Jon DeRhodes, daughter Lynda Young, wife Carole, and several siblings and friends. He is now reunited with them in heaven where his sickness is healed and his joy is complete. Friends may call Friday from 1-2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in North Canton followed by a service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Stark County Humane Society in his memory.
