Sandra Kay “Sandy” (Farson) Ledford

Sandra Kay "Sandy" (Farson) Ledford, age 51, died Wednesday after a short battle with cancer. Born in Canton she had lived in North Pole, Alaska the last 18 years. She was 1983 graduate of McKinley High School. Sandy's passion in life was being "Memaw" to her grandchildren, Claire Joan and William Michael Ledford. Survived by her husband, Stephen J. Ledford of the home, sons, Matthew Ledford of Canton, Michael (Vanessa) Ledford and Mark Ledford both of North Pole Alaska, mother, Lottie Farson and brother, Stanley (Janice) Farson of Massillon. Preceded in death by her father, Norris Farson, two half-brothers and a half-sister. Friends may call Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Lamiell Funeral Home with a service to follow at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Jaimie Brown officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the J. Michael Carroll Cancer Center, 1640 Cowles Street #1, Fairbanks, Alaska 99701 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
