SISTER RITA OUSKA, CDS

Sister Rita Ouska was born in Melrose Park Village, Illinois. She entered the Congregation of the Divine Spirit in Erie, Pennsylvania, on August 11, 1960. Sister Rita taught at St. James and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel schools in Erie, St. Callistus in Kane, all in Pennsylvania, and Assumption School in Geneva, Ohio and most recently Our Lady of Peace in Canton. She taught religious education in the Diocese of Erie at St. Stephen's in Erie, Holy Cross in Fairview, Holy Redeemer Catechetical Center in Warren, St. Anthony in Tionesta and St. John in Tidioute.

Sister's parents, William and Rose Ouska, preceded her in death, as did her brother William Ouska, Jr. Sister Rita is survived by her community of Sisters and by her sister, Bernadette Ouska of Mesa, AZ, and brother Deacon Gregory (Mary) Ouska of Downers Grove, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Sister Rita in the House of Loreto Chapel at 10:00 on Saturday, April 27, with Fr. Nicholas Mancini officiating. Visitation will be for 1 hour before Mass.
