Suzanne M. "Suzy" Houseman, ager 74, died Wednesday after a two year illness. She was a life resident of the North Canton area, 1962 graduate of Hoover High School and had worked at Republic Steel for 33 years until 2002 and then at St. Raphael Center till the present. Suzy was a member of Saint Paul Catholic Church (North Canton) and Board of Directors of the St. Raphael Center. She played women's fast pitch softball and was inducted in the Ohio Women's Fast Pitch Softball Hall of Fame in 1990. Survived by her sisters, Sandy (Mike) Burkhard of Canton and Margaret Christensen of Louisville, brothers, Jim (Bev) Houseman of Powell and John "Mike" Christine Houseman, Jeff (Sally) Houseman and Scott (Karen) Houseman all of North Canton and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eleanor Houseman and a brother-in-law, Dick Christensen. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor James Clarke as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
