Terrence “Terry” Michael Durkin

Terrence "Terry" Michael Durkin, age 78, of Louisville, passed away Thursday August 16, 2018. Terry was born in Canton on January 14, 1940 to the late James W. and Jeanette Durkin. He was a graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School. Terry retired as a Real Estate Agent from Durkin Realty and went on to work for and retired for a second time from the Stark County Sewer District. While working for the Stark County Sewer District, he became a regular visitor and friend of the dogs at the Stark County Dog Warden. Terry built multiple houses in the Canton area and would pass that knowledge to anyone who needed assistance. On multiple occasions, you could find Terry searching for the "best deal" at local garage sales. He was a Vietnam War Army veteran. Terry touched the hearts of everyone he encountered with the stories of his great life experiences. Preceded in death by his brothers, Dan, John and Joe Durkin and sister, Deborah Durkin. Survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Mary Lou Durkin, Steve and Margaret Durkin, Tom Durkin, Tony and Kathy Durkin, Cindy Durkin and Amy Durkin, the love of his life and companion of 38 years, Dolores Ramey, stepson, Neil Ramey, numerous nieces and nephews and beloved pet, "Dixie". Friends may call Monday from 10-11 am at the Lamiell Funeral Home followed by a service at 11 am with Father Edward Beneleit officiating. Burial will be in Saint John Cemetery.
