THOMAS ALLEN DOUGHERTY

Thomas (Tom) Allen Dougherty Jr., of Canton, Ohio, passed away August 12, 2024 after living a fulfilling life of 84 years. He was born November 14, 1939 in Marietta, Ohio, to Thomas A. Dougherty Sr. and Allene (Walter) Clark, who precede him in death.

A graduate of Canton McKinley High School, Tom served in the US Navy for a period before attending Walsh College, while working for the Timken Company as an electrician. Upon graduating from Walsh with a business degree he embarked on a career in sales selling industrial tooling for over 40 years as owner/operator of TADCO Company. Tom loved sales, but more importantly he loved the many friendships he developed with his customers and suppliers alike. Tom was always involved in one project or another with his good friends Howard and Kenny, always keeping busy. When he wasn't busy working on something, he could be found enjoying a round of golf with his brother-in-law, Jim, or spending time with his family of whom he loved very much. Tom always had a soft spot in his heart for animals and loved his two dogs, Brutus and Teddy.

Thomas' memory will forever be cherished, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who survive; wife, Debbi Dougherty; children, Shawn Dougherty (Stacey), Charlotte Dougherty (Chris Hunt), Michelle Dougherty, Gretchen DePaola (Tony), Thomas M. Dougherty, Patrick Dougherty (Brandy), grandchildren, Matt, Molly, Mason, Olivia, Isabella, AJ, and Scarlett; sister, Rose Carosielli; and stepchildren Kelly Conrad and Samuel Conrad.

At this time, the family would like to thank all his customers, suppliers and friends who stopped by to visit or call Tom from time to time while he went through a difficult 8 months in his life. These gestures and your prayers meant more to him than you could imagine.

The family will receive guests from 4:00 to 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 17th at Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton, where a Memorial Service will be held immediately following at 5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital or to the Stark County Pet Food Pantry in Tom's name.
