THOMAS D. HAMMEN

Thomas D. Hammen, 88, of North Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully early in the morning on August 24. He was born February 14, 1935 in Canton, Ohio to his late parents, Clarence and Mildred (Keatly) Hammen and preceding Thomas in death were brothers, Robert and Jack.

A lifelong Canton resident, Tom met his wife, Linda and married in 1997. He graduated from Timken High School. He retired from Canton Castings and R&J Furniture. Proudly, he served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of VFW Post 44. Baseball was his favorite past time along with watching CNN and enjoying any other professional sports.

Tom will be missed more than words can say by those who survive; his wife, Linda Hammen; sons, Thomas (Carla) Hammen, Ronald (Connie) Hammen, Jeffery (Susan) Hammen; grandson, Cameron; sisters-in-law, Pat Hammen and Pamela Mikeska; brother, Bill (Nancy) Hammen;; and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Tom's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Interment will take place privately at Sunset Hills Memory Garden.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Stark County Humane Society.
