Vickie L. (Karcher) Hampton

Vickie L. (Karcher) Hampton, 76, of Canton, formerly of Malvern, entered eternal rest Aug. 20, 2025, after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Preceded in death by her parents, Harold J. and Dorothy L. (Hughes) Karcher and the love of her life, David D. Hampton, Vickie is survived by her daughter, Staci Allgood (Brian Lisik); grandchildren in heart, Cecilly Rose (Ethan), Christian Lisik and Chelsie Lisik; and sisters, Marcia Staats and Sandy Mong.

Vickie was retired from EB Display Co. and loved music, shopping and baseball – particularly the Cleveland Indians (always). She treasured babies and her greatest superpower was calming a fussy child when no one else could. Her family called her "the baby whisperer"!

She enjoyed watching her great nieces and nephews play sports more than anything. Her littles – Anderson, Kate, Davis, Emily and Sarah – will miss her most.

Vickie was known as "Great Vickie" to her sweet great-grandsons in heart – Kayden, Carson and Elliott.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her daughter – going to dinner, finding new ice cream spots, or going on a random road trip.

Left to cherish her memory are sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hampton, Vivian Nieman (Ken), Peggy Bailey (Ray) and Kathy Kirkpatrick (Tom); nieces Stephanie Thompson (Scott) and Heather Cochran (Mike); nephew Nathan Nieman (Hannah); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

The family wishes to extend its gratitude to the staff at Altercare Country Lawn, and to her dear friends Audrey Lisik, Diana Davis-Loy, Dick Burckhart, Carla Larch, and Jamie and Theresa Morckel.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Avenue, NW Canton from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service following immediately at 1:00 PM. Reverend Jeffrey Witherspoon officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Burial Park.
