Virginia Ruth McDonagh, age 83, died Wednesday after a long illness. Born and raised in Minerva, lived in Cleveland and moved to Canton in 1962. Virginia graduated Salutatorian in 1951 from Minerva High School and was a graduate of Dyke and Spencerian College in Cleveland. She was a dealer in china matching and collectibles and a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, John F. "Jack" McDonagh Jr. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John F. III "Jack" and Karen McDonagh and grandsons, John F. IV "Jack" and Andrew McDonagh all of Wilmette, Illinois. Family and friends will meet on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10- 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.
