WAYNE C. HERSHEY, JR.

Wayne C. Hershey, Jr., passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2024, at the age of 69. Wayne was born in Massillon, Ohio, February 6, 1955, to Wayne and June Hershey.

Wayne was involved in scouting when he was young, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Jackson High School. Wayne worked at Republic Steel and eventually retired with twenty years of service from VT Hackney, Kidron Division.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Sally Kidd. He is survived by his wife, Marsha, with whom he would have celebrated twenty years of marriage on March 27, 2024; his children, Heather Hershey (Nigel Willis) and Wayne C. Hershey III (Sarah); his sister, Judy Heinzer (Joe); and brother-in-law, Don Kidd; his in-laws and best friends, Ernie and Kris Coberly, Mark Coberly, Janice and Roch Hontas, Matt and Marianne Coberly, and Barb and Todd Norvaisa; and numerous much loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Lamiell Funeral Home, 1353 Cleveland Avenue, NW, Canton. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:30 PM, St. Michael's Cemetery, 7409 Coal Bank Road, Marshallville. Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life, at the American Legion Post #44, Canton, at 2:00 PM.

Wayne was a wonderful husband, who will be missed and loved forever by his wife, a loving father, and a fun brother-in-law and uncle. He was a life-long Massillon Tiger and Cleveland Browns fan, an avid golfer, and loved camping and vacations at Lake Erie and the Carolina beaches.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post #44 in Wayne's name.
