He was born February 7, 1955, in Canton, to his late parents, Ervin and Miriam (Trushal) Welch. Together with his parents, he is also preceded in death by his son, Jason.

Bill leaves behind many cherished memories and a legacy to those who survive; son, Mike Welch; fiancée, Susan Pachuta; grandchildren, Jace, Jonathan, Hailee, and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Riley, Leah, Ainsley; sister, Melissa (David) Rose, Becky (Bill) James; brother, Greg (Teresa) Welch; numerous nieces and nephews; his many firefighter brothers; and many countless lives he touched on a daily basis.

He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and compassionate heart. He was extremely devoted to his family. He answered the call of becoming a firefighter, serving the Canton area for many years. He had a passion for motorcycles and most recently shared that passion leading families, during their tender time, to their loved one's final resting site. Truly, a man, whose compassion for others was always at the heart of everything he did.
