William V. Machuga, age 94, died Monday. Born in Fredericktown, Pennsylvania, he had lived in Canton, most of his life, was a 1942 graduate of McKinley High School, retired from Republic Steel and a member of Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church and Council No. 4533 Knights of Columbus. Bill was a World War II Navy veteran. Preceded in death by his wife, Ann Machuga, parents, John and Anna and siblings, Mary Roman, Elsie Johnston and Helen, Frank, Steve, Paul, John and Edward Machuga. Survived by his daughter, Jane Rideout, granddaughters, Amy (Brett) Scott and Karen (Scott) Colburn, great grandchildren, Allison, Zachary, Brandon, Joshua and Jacob and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and Dr. Baum at Bethany Nursing Home for their loving care. Friends may call Monday from 9-10 a.m. at Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father G. David Weikart as celebrant. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church Capital Campaign.
