Since the passing of P.J. Lamiell on November 11, 2022, we have earnestly been engaged in pursuing to seek out the right individual to carry on our legacy here at the funeral home, upon which Paul J. Lamiell, Sr. and P.J. Lamiell, Jr. have done for the past 53 years of service, to the greater Stark County community, when our doors were first opened in January of 1969.
We are pleased and proud to announce that we have selected James R. Patron, Sr., who is an Ohio Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer for over 43 years and is also a certified Crematory Operator with the state of Ohio and presently owns his own crematory in southeastern Ohio. Jim will be our day to day acting manager of the business operations. James (Jim) served his apprenticeship under Paul J. Lamiell, Sr. and has worked with P.J, as well, through the years and has been a lifelong friend of the family for well over forty plus years. Jim was born and raised in Canton, Ohio, attending St. Joseph Elementary School, Lincoln High School, and graduating from Kent State University, before going on to mortuary school, where he earned his mortuary degree. Jim has also owned and operated his own funeral homes in southeastern Ohio for the past 11 years and presently owns and operated his own funeral home in Uniontown, Ohio. He also served during his earlier years, as organist and choir director of St, Joseph Catholic Church of Canton, Ohio. Please feel free to chat with Jim with any concerns or questions you may have. P.J. is a life resident of Canton and a graduate of McKinley High School. He is a graduate of Xavier University and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. He is a licensed Ohio Funeral Director and Embalmer and joined his father in the family funeral home in 1983. He is a member of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, Basilica of St. John the Baptist Parish Council (President), the Rotary Club of Canton, Canton Council No. 341 Knights of Columbus, Msgr. Graham Assembly Fourth Degree K. of C., Catholic Men's Luncheon Club, and the JCI Senators. He is currently serving on the Board of Trustees of the YMCA of Central Stark County and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Meyers Lake YMCA. He has been active in the Canton Jaycees in which he was a Jaycee of the Year, Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival in which he was a Past Chairman of the Ribs Burnoff and Fireworks Committees, Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America, CYC Community Recreation Center in which he was a past President, and several other volunteer boards. He is a recipient of the 2010 Meyers Lake YMCA Adult Volunteer of the Year Award and the 1998 recipient of the Canton Jaycees Distinguished Service Award. P.J. is married to Sharon (Kirkpatrick) Lamiell with whom they have four children, Paul III, Kelly, Kristine, and Andrew.

Sharon is a life resident of Canton and a graduate of Timken High School. She had worked for the CSE Credit Union until 1988 when she joined the Lamiell Funeral Home. She is a member of the Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Sharon is married to P.J. Lamiell with whom they have four children, Paul III, Kelly, Kristine, and Andrew.



Phil is a graduate of Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School and The University of Akron. He worked 37 years as an educator in The Fairless and Lake Local Schools, retiring as Principal of Uniontown Elementary. He is married to his wife, Cindy with two grown sons. Phil is a member of Saint Joseph Church in Massillon.

Kevin is a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and the owner of JMT Clean a commercial cleaning business. Kevin was a former board member of the Canton Jaycees and a volunteer for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Festival Ribs Burnoff Committee. He is currently Chairman of the Canton Township Zoning Commission having served since 2000. Kevin is married to Pamela (Bailey) Heim with whom they have three children, Christopher “CJ”, Joshua and Andrew.
